Cayucos on Estero Bay

Cayucos is a beautiful seaside town located on Estero Bay, just a few miles to the north of Morro Bay. We have stayed at the BeachWalk Inn for years and find the larger room with a kitchen and separate bedroom just perfect for our needs. Main St. features an old western style saloon and antique shops across from the pier and a row of delightful fast food beach eateries. Watch out for the seagulls as they will happily snatch your lunch if they are given even half a chance. When JJ was very small he loved attend the annual Rock and Mineral Show at the Veteran's Hall (located at the pier) every year. He always purchased a geode filled with crystals - usually purple and/or a very hard rock shaped like an egg. Every Saturday evening in the summer you can "join in" Stories Round the Fire on the beach just south of the pier. We love the Peddler's Faire held in the streets on warm summer weekends. Check the calendar of events posted at cayucosbythesea.com for current activities you might enjoy. Cayucos is a wonderful place to get away from the hassle and stress of city life and just park your car and walk. You can hear the quiet - and the waves lapping up on the shore.

On your way into town, you can stop by the old cemetery and pay your respects to the original founders of Cayucos.
