Mapmakers consider the coast between San Francisco and Los Angeles the 'central coast', and we did on our first couple of trips, but now we think of it as the gorgeous coastline between Ventura and Carmel. We are the Dawson's - Joe, Gabi and JJ and we LOVE the Central Coast of California! To say the area is FABULOUS does not do it justice! The climate is mild with rugged oaks and sycamores on the grassy, rolling hills. Dramatic volcanic formations dot the rocky coast and continue on through the meadows and mountains. There is so much to see and do that EVERYONE falls in love with California's Central Coast!
Join us on our most recent trip through the Central Coast (April 2008) and we just know you will want to plan your own trip SOON! We drove up Highway 101 through Carpenteria, Santa Barbara, Buellton, Pismo Beach (five cities), Avila Bay, Los Osos, Morro Bay, Cayucos, Cambria, San Simeon, Piedras Blancas, Gorda and Big Sur. We made many stops along the way at Rincon, El Capitan, Refugio, Montana de Oro, Harmony, Hearst Castle and the Piedras Blancas elephant seal colony - just to mention a few! We saw wonderful things, took fabulous pictures and created lifetime memories. More importantly, we HAD FUN!!!
It is easy to drive to the Central Coast from anywhere in So Cal and spend a few days. It is much harder to leave and go back home! Whether you visit this beautiful area as a side trip for a few days or as a remarkable destination - we know you will positively fall in love with California's Central Coast! This is the perfect time to enjoy a high value, relatively low cost vacation. Why not start planning your trip to California's Central Coast TODAY?
